I have Sea Smoke arriving today. Ordered six bottles (4 x 2008 Southing; 2 x 2008 "Ten"), but apparently they are arriving in 4 (

) separate packages. Hmmm.

Have a couple of cases of VT arriving from Zachy's on Friday. 1 case of the 2007 and 1 case of the 2008.

Shafer was supposed to ship this week as well. Haven't heard from them though.

Just got two cases of Loring, including a case of 1/2 bottles, for those nights when I want just a little more. My Sea Smoke, which is about a case, isn't coming until December. Expecting another delivery today, two case of Stefania.

Just got the email on the $1 bottle shipping from Zachy's. Will be putting together a case this weekend.

Oh, I forgot and did not record in my pending that I have two, two packs of Lewelling, 07. Did you see the WS and RP scores? 98 and 95.

Do you guys ever buy from those discount wine sites?

What is your experience with them?

http://winesqueeze.wordpress.com/ <- this site seem to sum up the daily deals...

As I am pretty new to wine drinking, I don't think its a good idea to buy 4 bottles at a time of something unless I plan to drink them all quickly/I know I like that varietal.

Yes. A lot of us on here have purchased stuff from WTSO and Cindy wines. I've also bought several things from Garagiste and have followed stuff on WineWoot, but never purchased anything. I've gotten some REALLY great deals on there and bought some stuff that, frankly, turned out to be just "meh." When they hit, though, they really hit.

Thanks, im looking to score some italian wines across these various websites as I know I like most of them (atleast in the red wine department)... Another question, do you guys use cellartracker? Are the user reviews (CT Rating) actually helpful?

we've used WTSO and Cinderella Wine in the past, mostly with good results. I rarely buy 4 bottles of the same wine, however, and accordingly I rarely buy from sites like that. IMO it's better to buy many different wines for the purpose of exploring rather than a case of a single wine. Unless it's a Lafite.

Mark, never tried Garagiste. How's your experience there?

Gome: did you start on that list?

I do and I know Pio does as well. I really like it. Has lots of good functionality and is adding more every day. They now will show you lots of independent reviews of wines from places like WLTV and Garagiste and if you subscribe to some of the premium services (Wine Spectator, eRobertParker, etc.) you can bring that content into CT as well.

I'm on it daily.

trusting the selection of a good importer (like Kermit Lynch - the importer is always listed on the bottle), or the advice from a knowledgeable and passionate store owner is, imo, a FAR better way to select wines than random consumer reviews.

for professional reviewers, I like Galloni and Meadows.

*edit: for CT I am only talking about the public reviews, I have no idea about the other features
