Last night at a dinner party: 2 bottles of 2003 Bouchard Père et Fils, Beaune Grèves Vigne de l'Enfant JÃ[IMG]sus. Quite nice.

good to hear you liked this. I have a bottle of the 2005 in my cellar.

My lord it was a great time and we even got to keep the glasses. The first set had ENOlogy logo's etched on them but after a break when we came back we managed to grab one's without a sponsor logo, which was a bonus!!!

    Another stupid question, I apologize.

I just bought a bottle of 2007 Clos la Madeleine. Nothing special, but it was priced right and I wanted a couple of glasses with dinner tonight.

Seeing as how I'm the only person, how significant will the loss of quality be if I only drink half the bottle tonight and re-cork the rest for tomorrow? Should I just go for the whole bottle tonight, tomorrow be damned?

Depends on how you want to feel tomorrow [IMG]

Generally speaking keeping a wine overnight won't have too much adverse effect on the wine if you re-cork it. Keeping it in the fridge will also prolong it and cooler temps slow down the oxidation process...jest let it warm up a bit (if red) before drinking!

I'm looking at all of these Vinotemps and such (almost pulled the trigger on one last night but decided to research more) and realized that all of them have pretty shitty reviews. I've never seen such a class of products that so commonly fails - on Amazon practically all of them say "great while it works, broke after 3 months" or something like "doesn't cool on hot days."

    Is there anything:

    12 bottles or more
Can keep wine cool even up to 80F ambient (I'm going to get one for my father as well for Christmas and my mother is obsessed with opening the windows on 90 degree days to "feel nature")
    Won't break in 3 months
    Is under $500

    Any recommendations?
