Those would be kind of cool minus the buckles.

Wow, 67 pages of streetwear shoes and boots and not a single Roy Boot? I'm surprised.

I have a pair on order and will post some pics when they come.

There have been pics of Roy Boots posted in the Alden thread.

I guess that's the issue with having a thread for Alden and a thread for everything else. The Alden stuff is under-represented in the thread for everything else.

Yeah, I frequent the Alden thread, but there's only two pairs of Roys posted, and one doesn't have good pics.

Those burnished green shoes are interesting.

I asked a question in this thread, or one of the Red Wing threads, asking what particularly makes the GT waterproof. And further, you know that wet, then dries white (I assume from Salt, but we do not really use salt too much here, too cold) and kinda a lumpy outline thing that happens to boots? Usually around the soles. For whatever reason, I got a huge stain and raised and white outline on my heal of a pair of my Red Wings (lifestyle). I can not figure out where it is coming from. Anyhow, ideas on how to treat? The whole area, out to the ridges was white when I first noticed, I think they fell over and sat in their own puddle, but I have no evidence of this. The next day, after cleaning and moisturizing, the outline was white again, now, the last couple of days, even after wiping and cleaning, they end up like this.

They're Loake Banks'. I got them from www.brogueshoes.com - they shipped to Australia very quickly (4 days). One possible problem - they're only made in a wide fitting (UKG / USEE). The Loake Burford is the same as far as I can tell, made in a standard width, but not in the brown distressed leather. Only burnished tan or black. Also note that they run at least a full size large. Compared to a standard Alden dress shoe, I'd say they run 1.5 sizes large (ie my size 13Gs are more like Alden 14EE's or 14.5E's). This is partly due to UK/US sizing differences. And yes, they are utterly fantastic. Even better in real life.

If you like the Loake boot, also look at the Herring boot of the same style. Their boot is on a medium with last and run closer to size. I sold my Banks to get the Herring and am much happier with them.

While I was at it, took a quick pic of my streetwear shoes that are not dress shoes:

You can see, I got the same salt stain on sperry's but not bubbling of course, should clean that too, with the vinegar mix the web says to use. Any more simple ideas for just that?

In the picture, that looks more like a complete breaking down of the leather into a dime-size hole. I hope that's not the case in real life. I wish I could offer some good advice. Hopefully others have ideas to help.

Yup, looks to me like something ate through the outer layer of leather
