No, it's a play on words: Camorra (Neapolitan mafia) vs. Gomorrah (biblical twin city of sin)

I assume you are attempting to draw some meaningful distinction btwn sicilian (la cosa nostra), calabrian ('ndrangheta) and neapolitan (camorra) organized crime? i'm not sure there is one - they all pretty much do the same stuff...

I'm not claiming anything. Mafia is a term that is used in general for organized crime syndicates of many different cultures. Now if I said the Russian Mafia, I wouldn't be implying that the Russians had anything to do with La Cosa Nostra. Not sure where you are going with this.

napoli though they deal with drugs they are often the dealers not direct importers, prostitition to a limtied extnse othe small activities.
´ndrangheta does not really involve itself dealing to the consumer mostly large sales and import into europe.
same with prostitution they mostly move the girls and other people deal with them at the local level.

in general in campania the things are done on the small scale, where as the oter group does it on much larger scale.

Well, apparently the Camorra put a contract on the author's head so he must have known what he was talking about, no?
