Let me know, I can't trust the comments posted by people who think this is the best movie ever. I mean what did it replace? Shawshank redemption?

No argument necessary. I and a friend were discussing this scene after the movie and we both agreed that Joker was utterly maniacally menacing during it. God, I miss Heath Ledger.

4 of 5 stars.
Definitely worth the price of admission.
It got a little choppy towards the end though.

It is definitely the Best Comic Book Movie but will be challenged next year by Watchmen. The movie was great but the on a negative note, I don't think Nolan could top this one.

At least with other solid acting performances, people can look past Bale's mediocre ability or at least in this role.

fumma- It was much better than the typical superhero movie and better than batman begins (which i wasn't crazy about like some). It's probably worth seeing despite your movie tastes i've gathered from the movie thread

edit to above post: I'm not even excited about Watchmen (the movie previewed at batman). I didn't like 300 and get tired of the same over the top dramatic moments of awe like in this and parts of sin city. Watchmen kinda seems like the same **** different storyline. It'll probably be alright, but i guarantee every college kid will be talking about it non-stop after it comes out heralding it as the best movie of the year like 300 (blech!). I'm going to wait till some other people i know see that movie first.

I don't think this is the best movie ever made, but it's by far the best comic book movie ever made.

Better than The Return of Swamp Thing?

I agree, to some extent. 300 was a good action film but people claiming it to be better than Gladiator are out fo their minds. The two comic book differs though. 300 doesn't really have substance, it is more about visual appealling cinema and brutal action sequences and that is it. Watchmen has depth and the story will speak for itself.

I am just curious, but have you read Watchmen? It is one of the best, if not the best, graphic novel ever written. Snyder will look into doing this movie the same way he did 300, a page for page interpretation. With it being visually appealling due to Snyder and great writing by Alan Moore, it is one of the comic book films that has a chance to beat TDK.

Right, but imagine if those film style actually comes with a good story, like maybe SinCity or the upcoming Spirit? With Watchmen's story, it will so much better. As usual, it just has to be done right.

That's the thing. I'm not a huge fan of the style 300 was filmed. I mean, i love medieval and classical history as i've studied it the past 4 years. I think i prefer the more realistic/gritty moments of thedarknight as opposed to the fantastical and dramatic that the watchmen promises. Hopefully, it'll be good though as march is normally a slow times for movies.

I'm not going to read any recent posts because I'm wary of spoilers, but I bought tickets for the Sunday IMAX show. Can't wait!
