Launer, Valextra, SAB.
Others might come into play for a specific leather good.

Longchamp. Longchamp was created in 1948 by Parisian Jean Cassegrain, originally making leather coverings for pipes the factory soon began producing a luxury line of handbag and travel accessories. Still a family owned and run business, Longchamp remains true to their roots by always showcasing their core signature items yet transforming them every season to have a more contemporary look. Corsa Collections carries a wide selection of Longchamp handbags and travel pieces and is glad to be part of the Longchamp heritage. http://news.sawf.org/Fashion/51613.aspx http://www.bworldonline.com/Weekende...?id=marketing1

Except Bemer doesn't make RTW either (IIRC), so while it has both their names on it or behind it, yet another place makes them. Didn't those sell at Saks?

The ones Bemer makes in collaboration with Valextra are RTW. He has effectively started his own RTW line through them. There is a whole write up about it in Last vol 7 (May '06). They say they make them at a factory an hour outside of Florence. They show machines suggesting that they are Goodyear welted. The Stephano Bemer per Valextra shoes look generally quite promising. Prices are listed as being 126,000-180,650 Yen.

Here is an example:

As usual the Japanese prices are more than a bit bloated by international standards.

Older, made in US Coach stuff are decent.
Ghurka, made in US, is good also.
Tusting is quite nice. Paul Stuart in fact rebadge them.

Of course the likes of Hermes...etc is also quite desirable. Too expensive, though, for my taste.

I love the classic English bridle leather brands like Swaine Adney.

Otherwise, I don't have a favorite. Most fashion brands use such a variety of sources to make things that the quality varies a lot.
