Yeah, you need to define 'damage' and add a 'keep wearing them' option. If it is relatively minor I might be a little annoyed at first but I keep wearing the item.

+1. I'll refer you to this old thread. People place too much importance on newness.

Okay then. But if the minor damage can be repaired, won't you have it fixed? Some damage, such as tearing, is likely to increase if you ignore it.

I noticed a pair of my shoes were starting to look a bit scuffed, so they went off to Goodwill. More than likely someone will get a better job than I have wearing them to an interview.

Shirts and so on also go off to goodwill once they've started to look a bit worn.

Jeans go to my little brother.

If it were say a small tear and could be fixed in an an acceptable manner then yes I would fix it and keep wearing it. If it were a small stain that won't come out or a moth hole or two I'd just carry on wearing it. Same if the elbows were getting a little shiny etc.

You can still keep stuff to laze around the house. I have stuff that has gone from regular wear to lounging around wear to working in the mud in the garden wear.

I laze around in pajamas or wearing my regular stuff (no jacket or shoes though). But yeah clothes aren't gone once they get some small damage, I think they look better that way.

I get ticked off and throw temper tantrums. Then I run out of the room screaming.
