Would someone mind being a US proxy?

I won a ebay item that the seller does not want to ship North of the border. Teh auction didn't mention not shipping international so off bidding I went with about 4 hours left to go. When I got home from the office there was a email saying he only ships US and can I retract the bid...well this is the first time I have used my Ebay account since I set it up on 02 so I have no freaking idea what to do.

I won the item and would like to get it. I mentioned that I would happily pay for it and arrange to have it shipped to someone in the US and then shipped up here. I am now waiting for his reply and if its good I would need the proxy. Naturally I would pay for the hassle and time needed to forward it to me.

Thanks greatly.

Where are you located? I'm in Vancouver and often have items sent to a postal depot in Bellingham (on the other side of the border). If you live close to the border you might want to give it a try.
