Thanks, but as I've said, I have both the W7 and the pre-installed Trend firewalls turned off. I also added Firefox to the allowed programs, and it still didn't get through.

This would be my initial guess but doesn't seem to make sense since IE has the same problem. User control (or w/e they call that horrible bullshit in W7) problem maybe? Edit: UAC is what the bullshit is. Turn it off even if it isn't the problem. It is awful.

Thanks, will do that when I fire up the netbook later. I hope that's it.

Are those two apps using Java? Check and see if HTTP upload works.

Probably using Java. I guess I better go turn that box on and start fiddling with it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Reinstall or update Java.

I would uninstall Trend on both computers; also, have you tried uploading to Photobucket or Flipshare via FTP? If that works without incident, your problem could be a lot of things, possibly a security or credentials issue?

can't seem to find an answer on the interweb.

Are you sure your USB drivers are working properly? Did you upgrade or install fresh?

Updating now. If this doesn't do it, I'll uninstall Trend. Anyone know where to find user access control in this new Windoze yet?

Momentarily thought it was solved with the Java update. On Photobucket, it had been starting the upload, then crapping out at 2-6% uploaded. It just did a 100% upload, then told gave me the same network error.

This is driving me crazy. Okay, MS, you suggested something with HTTP? Where can I find what you are suggesting?

What specifically is the network error? Paste the exact text.

I'll paste it up tonight. It's from Photobucket, saying an error occurred with the upload. Funny thing is, been playing with that new ReadyNAS of mine, and I can access it remotely just fine, using the netbook.
