This story could make sense if it weren't for the bow. Nice try, however.

Unless you're holding up a large sign that reads "I'm wearing an $8000 Kiton (that's a suit by the way)," no one will care/notice. What a stupid implication.....

Some people would be tempted to wear the price tag outside if they could...

I'm a public radio host. I was at the big annual industry conference, and I went shopping across the street. I saw the host of another show from my network, and approached her to say hi. Before I could, she asked me if I carried a shirt in another size. That was embarassing.

Perhaps they just deduce that you are member of teh StyleForvm, and thus, have an intimate photographic knowledge of where toilets and urinals are.

Food for thought.

Or perhaps they themselves are members of styleforum and are simply looking for the right spot to take pics of their new wares.

I'm tired of saying: "No, I learned my English in Maryland, not Japan. And no, I'm not here on business (and the white woman on my arm is not a paid escort)."

Not in New York. In Chicago, several times. And yes, for whatever reason, everyone always thought I was specifically from Japan.

Has anyone helped out the person mistaking you for an employee, and they point at you when the cashier asks 'Has anyone assisted you today?'
