Maybe he was taking a "nap" with his girlfriend.  Gotta recognize that very legitimate possibility and give the man some props.
he could've taken that "nap" after celebrating with his teammates. winning a trophy for your country doesn't happen every day.

tiger rubs me the wrong way in that he takes himself way too seriously. i agree that he is la ousy dresser too. he dresses like he's a generation older than he is, and not in a cool way.

Agreed on both points. Advice to Tiger: you are not the same age as Arnold Palmer.

His Swedish gf Elin is actually a real skank if you see her up close and personal. She was supposedly a model back in the days but she is really nothing special.
And, if she really was a model, then why would she be a babysitter for that swedish golfer? Geez, I wonder what I'd rather do: model or babysit?

The thing that I especially dislike about Tiger is how bland he is on social issues. Sometimes, I think black atheletes have unrealistic expectations placed on them about these issues, compared to their white teamates. But, its Tiger who made it an issue when he first came out with those Nike commercials talking about how he couldn't have played at some golf courses years ago.

To be fair to Tiger, many of the most elite athletes are loners.  (Pete Sampras and Kobe Bryant immediately come to mind.)  They are more concerned with their place in history than being well liked.

pete sampras is a quiet guy, but he doesn't bore me to death. and don't be dissin' kobe. he has a pleasant personality when he's interviewed and he dresses well too. i just wouldn't want to be in a hotel room alone with him.

My only point was that Kobe does not socialize with his teammates off the court.  So what Tiger is doing is not particularly unusual.

Barry Bonds is another not-so-popular athlete, but so is Michael Jordan. Jerry Rice is admired for his work ethic but has for many years rubbed some the wrong way. Pete Sampras was not disliked as such, just considered boring - I really liked him, and like Roger Federer now as they aren't too brash but get the job done. What they all have in common, though, is that they are/were the best in their respective sports.

Today I saw Freddy Garcia (pitcher for the Chicago White Sox, my team) when I was in Chicago.  I doubt that many people recognized him, as it was on the street that I saw him.  He looked nice, and really is a big, well-built fellow.
This past summer I saw Moises Alou at Niketown when I went to look for new shoelaces.  He was right ahead of me in line, and I didn't even realize that it was him until I was up in line.  I managed to get his autograph.  Alou bought over $1000 in merchandise.  He was wearing Zegna jeans and a black shirt.
Years ago I saw Antoine Walker and Walter McCarty at Niketown while they were still playing for Kentucky, and on Christmas Eve I saw Randy Brown at Lord & Taylor.  I was lucky enough to manage to get the autographs of all three.  Last year I went to ESPNZone with a few friends to see Jordan's (supposedly) last game.  There we saw Kordell Stewart and a few other Chicago Bears, mostly dressed in Fubu and the like.
My cousin's story about Kobe Bryant: he saw him at Borders one day in Chicago when the Lakers were in town to play the Bulls during the 2002-2003 season.  My cousin asked for his autograph, which Kobe refused.  Very shortly thereafter a couple girls asked to have a picture with him and get his autograph, and he happily agreed. Needless to say, my cousin was miffed.
