White Tie To Prom?

I was wondering if i could wear proper white tie to my prom... I am not talking about white tie mishaps, i mean truly authentic and WELL FITTING white tie? i already have a tailcoat which i will have altered to fit, and i can get the rest. i would also wear a real vintage SILK top hat and a simple black cane with a simple silver handle (and Opera pumps(most likely)). is this ok for prom? When I say mishap i am referring to the one on the far left, when i say proper and well fitting I am referring to the ones in the middle and the right

actually this is prom for the next school year (2017/2018)!

also i have been doing white tie research since the summer so i am POSITIVE that i will not mess up in my white tie execution!
