When taking a dump in a public restroom

Do you ever look at the shoes of the person taking a dump in the next stall?

I was with a friend in Las Vegas and we were both taking a **** together at the Mirage Hotel (Male bonding). He thought I was in the stall to the left of him, but I was really in the stall to the far left. We had a guy between us (Japanese, late 40's, businessman). During the course of our ******** he started to compliment me on my shoes. He talked about how nice the gold buckle on it shined. How nicely kept the leather was.

He didn't realize that person he was complimenting was not me. I was wearing sandals.

Depends how wide their stance is. If they are easily visible then I certainly look, though have never had the intestinal fortitude to actually utter a complement.
