Finished The Continental. It was fine, i guess, but they didn't make much of an effort with chronological accuracy. Or plot logic, for that matter, even by John Wick standards. And Mel Gibson was easily the least interesting character. I'd kinda be interested in seeing more about a few of the other characters, if they decide to do a sequel/spinoff.

I’m on ep3 and was about to post something similar.

Those first 2 just seemed unnecessary and I’m not even seeing how they set up anything for the main plot for the rest of the season (but maybe the ties will come in later).
Which show?

I'm not going to scan all 328 pages, but has anyone mentioned Dark Winds yet? Really good detective procedural set on the Navajo reservation in the early 1970s. Stars Zach McLarnon who was also in Longmire.

Cop solves crimes in LA, some old some new. That's the main plot for all the Bosch shows and books. 🤷‍♂️

Bosch and Bosch Legacy are both great shows!
I'm a big fan of Connelly's books I've read them all to date. The shows were fun but I knew all the plot lines.

Does Netflix have enough good material to justify a subscription? I really want to see The Killer, but don't want to start a subscription just for that movie. I already have Amazon Prime Video and Max.

Hard no for me, but it is dependent on your preferences/viewing habits.

For good or bad, there is NO shortage of options available on Netflix.

Netflix has TONS of content, sometimes it’s hard to separate the wheat for the chaff…… I seem to always be able to find something to watch though, and they’ve got some top tier content if you look hard enough…

I‘d browse this list and see if there’s enough here to make it worth the price for you.

So good! I grabbed the audio book to keep me occupied during windshield time and they could get a few seasons out of the first book in the series. There are three total.
I’m conflicted, it was so well done and so much of the fun is trying to figure out wtf is going on.

Reading ahead would take that away. I mean, I’d still get it during the books but I’d power through and just read more rather than parcelling it out in episodes and being able to discuss it with someone else.
