Serious? Ed Wood, Beetlejuice, Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Pee Wee's Big Adventure.

I think that's about it though.

His version of Batman was okay too.

Watched 'The Yellow Sea' - bloody as hell but good.

Never seen 'The Blues Brothers', so I saw it. It always gets talked about as this great movie, but it wasnt very good.

Regarding The Blues Brothers, it was a pretty groundbreaking movie at the time. John Landis and Harold Ramis are basically re-inventing the modern comedy during this time. Characters are doing and saying things that really weren't done on screen in major motion pictures at the time. Not only did they make it successful, but they made it acceptable. In the time of American Pie 27 and the Farrelly Bros. this may not seem like much, but the accomplishments of the latter two probably wouldn't have happened without movies like The Blue Brothers, Caddyshack, or Animal House.

To the folks hating on Casino, I'm not really sure what to say. Pesci alone, has like 30 quotable lines. The clothes are great, the camera work is great, and the combination of film and music is one of my favorite of all times. The soundtrack is beyond great. The movie is so rich with detail and and is so re-watchable that even after having seen it around 50 times you still see new things.

I've been on vacation for the week so I logged in a few titles.

In Time - Great concept, decent execution, pretty bad acting. If you were intrigued when you saw the trailer, you should watch it.

Hall Pass - I honestly didn't know that it was a Farrelly Bros. movie until I saw the second "guy who is only in a Farrelly Bros. movie". Laughed ****** off. Might be the fifth fourth funniest movie from them. Dumb and Dumber > Kingpin > There's Something About Mary > Hall Pass > Me, Myself, and Irene

Young Adult - About what I expected. If you had asked me 15 years ago what I think would become of Charlize Theron, I doubt I would have said that she'll probably become the best and biggest risk-taking actress of her generation.

Most early 80's film was ****. For this to be groundbreaking? Eh.

Glad to see somebody giving Young Adult some props. The script is just OK, but Charlize knocks it out of the park. I enjoyed every minute of the movie, and it was because of her. I dont think there's an actress working that you could have substituted and come away with a good movie.

In Time was a good concept, and was shot beautifully. It's too bad the acting is what brought it down.

I picked up quite a few blu rays from a blockbuster store that was closing its' doors. The American, Knight And Day, and Nine(coincident that stitch was talking about it). Also picked up Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Social Network, and Up In The Air at .94 a piece. Smoking deals.
