Wait a minute... Taxi Driver was 70's

    Allright, 80 to 85:

    Scarface
    Das Boot
    The Gods Must Be Crazy
    The Big Red One
    The Breakfast Club
    Brazil
    The Terminator
    Risky Business
    2010
    Paris, Texas
    First Blood
    Blood Simple
    Cocoon

Come on, is anyone going to honestly argue first half of 80's was better than last?

Which brings up an interesting idea. I wonder what 5 year stretch has the best released films. :puzzled:

Its probably a recent 1/2 decade, maybe 95 to '00?

    '06 to '10?

'90 to '94 had some stunning movies...

But so did the late 70's:

Apocalypse Now (greatest film of all time)
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
    Taxi Driver
    Barry Lyndon
    All the Presidents Men
    Network
    Nashville
    Annie Hall
    The Deer Hunter
    Dog Day Afternoon
    The Outlaw Josey Wales
    Alien
    Watership Down
    Life of Brian
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
    Star Wars
    Manhattan
    Killer of Sheep

Finally got around to seeing Drive. Awesome movie. Especially Christina Hendrick's head exploding and the soundtrack.

watched Days of Heaven. this was great for the cinematography alone. it's like an andrew wyeth painting in motion. most of these screencaps could also go in the Inspiration thread.

also watched The Game with Michael Douglas. it was one of my favorite movies back in middle school. it's still really good. Douglas is really good in it. makes me want an E38.

Fincher is awesome. Somehow, San Francisco brings out the awesome in him.

In the middle of The Last Temptation of Christ. Loving it so far. Jesus hasn't died yet. <---- does that need spoiler tags?
