Thanks much for the follow-up.
It seems we are in complete agreement.
2/5 for me as well; 1.5 hours of time passed; nothing more.
At least your review helps me think I wasn't completely negatively over-reacting to it.

Yeah. It was watchable. You were spot on.

I happen to open Netflix and saw that in my queue and remembered your review. I figured that I would give it a shot.

I re-watched (after seeing it when it first came out) "The Book of Eli" on Netflix last night.

I love Washington, liked the movie OK the first time, but of course the surprise/twist is so extreme so that any second viewing is incredibly conditioned by knowing it.

My main question after last night was, "Why is Mila Kunis in this?". Is there any recent role wherein one of the co-stars could be completely written out, literally have all their scenes deleted, and that movie would not be changed one iota? :puzzled:

Is anybody else here (Netflix subscribers) watching the series "Broadchurch"? It is really great so far, but I'm barely into it.

Yes it's a huge clichè, but wow do the Brits do serial TV so well.

I am looking forward to the next season (if there is one?) of "The Frankenstein Chronicles" starring Sean Bean, etc.

Is "Sherlock" with Cumberbatch/Freeman/Gattis etc finished? That was excellent too.

Broadchurch is brilliant! I watched S1 multiple times. I can watch S1 from the beginning again tonight if I know I want a quality series. I won't say anything else as I won't spoil it for you.

S2 & S3 are a letdown. I barely remember what happened and have only watched then once. S1 is the highlight!

Take a look at this thread for streaming/movie suggestions...if you have not already:

Really? I mean about S2/S3?
Because I am really loving S1. It's fantastic, on all levels. Every actor is perfect, and the dialogue, cinematography, colors, light, cuts/editing, all great. I will watch S2/S3 of course, but wonder why they went down. Different writers/directors/crew?

Thanks a million for that other thread suggestion; I was unaware of it and will subscribe.

(Speaking of season-ending letdowns, the one which I'm sure has already been discussed many times on this forum and so my apologies, was the last season of "House of Cards" (USA) = the largest POS ever, bar none.

That was really incredible, how not one single bad trope or clichè or line or grimace or plot disaster or completely uninterested action by all involved was left unused. I really think Netflix should have refunded all of of us for that complete tripe.)

I am having a problem getting into serial crime shows because of simple fatigue. It sucks because I'm probably missing out on some good TV. The same thing happened years ago with mafia dramas. I turned off Boardwalk Empire midway through the first episode of season 3 because it was just so ******* trite and boring. I haven't had any interest in a mafia television show or movie since. The mafia related **** was handled really well in The Deuce.

Really, Fair Warning:
DO NOT WATCH HoC Final Season. Just don't do it. I like your comments here and would hate to have you just expire from boredom-induced rage on your couch. It is that awful.

No, I never have see GoT. I do not have cable TV, so Netflix is my only friend.

I think the reason is that after S1, there really isn't anywhere to go. S2 & S3 are just followup/fluff. I can tell you everything about Broadchurch S1. S2 & S3? I barely remember. I watched S2 twice and S3 once.

I think you will understand after you finish S1 and start S2.

Do come back and let me know if you "figured it out" before the climax.

And no prob re that other thread.

Will do, and that's the fun of it.
I have said "he", "she", and "they" did it so many times already that I am certain that I am exactly as far off from the actuality as the creators want me to be right now. Great stuff.

I go through that too, periods where I just can't get into any TV at all.
I have never had cable, standard TV is useless now, so Netflix is my only platform. But, there is lots of crap on Netflix too, and sometimes I just don't have the patience to sort through it all.

Don't forget Youtube. Lots of good stuff of YT.

I would recommend this:
