Had a carnitas burrito last night - I like the pinto beans though. I can't eat much more than one per week or I get sick of them. Quite good, filling, and fairly cheap though.

definitely. very good prices.
and the ingredients are fresh and qualitative relatively.

i just dont get why they charge almost 2 dollars for a scoop of guacomole on your burrito.
and the chips in the bag are stale as heck.

They were panseared, then finished in the oven after saving the grease and pan scraps for the gravy. For the gravy, I used the grease, added mirepoix, minced garlic, a few sprig of of fresh time, and some pepper flakes. The mixture was degreased after a few minutes with apple hard cider, then a bit of local farm-made apple juice was added along with ~2 cups of beef stock. The sauce was simmered for about 20-30 minutes to reduced by half, then thickened with a slurry. The chops and gravy were served over a bed of creamy mashed potatoes.

The dish was simple to make. While the gravy took a while, it was simple and could be left unattended while simmering.

Yes, this is a weekly fast-food indulgence for me. (It also helps that my daughter likes their quesadillas.) Sometimes I do the chicken or carnitas, but usually I get the veggie fajita burrito with black beans, both the hot salsa and the corn salsa, and quacamole. I like to pretend that all those vegetables make it healthy.

I had a gourmet meal at Wendy's.

Jr. bacon cheeseburger, small fry, water, medium frosty, bowl of chili. Their chili is fairly decent, especially when you consider it's fast food.

The fries were absolutely terrible. Wendy's, in my experience, simply does not make good french fries. The young lass at the cash register was also one of the dumbest people I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. It took her a good 3 minutes to ring up my friend's order of a salad, soda, and french fries. I don't understand it.

All in all, not bad for $6.

I've gained some weight lately, but according to the BMI I'm still a "healthy weight." Since puberty, I haven't had problems with weight gain from food. I wish I could eat 100 Nathan's

The carnitas is great. You can get any burrito w/ sauteed peppers and onions instead of beans which is what I have been getting lately. Just ask for a fajita burrito. It's good with both the carnitas and the barbacoa. I always get it with both their chopped tomato and green tomatillo salsa.

Raw chicken. Raw chicken liver. Plus some grilled chicken too. At an excellent yakitori place near my home. I love Japan!
