1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Looks great Pio! What is your pizza recipe? Anyone have a good relatively easy recipe they like?

Last night I ate a Trader Joes pretzel bread roll, some wasabi dried peas, and microwaved tortilla chips with cheese and salsa on them while binge watching Falling Skies on Amazon.

Thanks. Recipe pretty much make some carnitas, make a pizza crust, toss on some caramelized onions with queso fresco and used a green salsa that I drained most of the liquid off of with a coffee filter as the sauce. I like to paint my crust edge with olive oil, toss on well heated pizza stone at 475 and then put lots of fresh cilantro on after it's cooked.

After the talk about the USDA requiring raw seafood to be previously frozen, I decided it was okay to make a scallop carpaccio from some frozen scallops. I haven't gotten food poisoning yet, so win?

It's an FDA guideline, not USDA and it doesn't require raw seafood to be previously frozen but rather seafood intended to be consumed without cooking. And, as the article points out it's not enforced by FDA. They leave it to local health. Seafood lives in a weird regulatory zone where state and local health departments oversee wild fisheries and aquafarms, while the FDA inspects facilities that produce fish sticks and shit like that. IME scromboid is illness most likely to get you with seafood. It sucks but won't kill you.

Honeybaked ham and White House Inn recipe mac & cheese with white truffle oil… yep that's it.

and my neighbor made these… so good.

I realized it may not be obvious they are apple rose tarts… it's an apple and pastry and some other shit… maybe apricot jam. Actually not very difficult, but they look cool and are very tasty!

I wish I had taken some pics at the table last night but I only grabbed these two back in the kitchen:

Best dish of the night was lobster ravioli in browned butter sauce covered in truffles. Had a 2010 Chateau Montelena Chard with it and happiness ensued.
