Wedding suit: Glen plaid tie with light grey suit?

Hi, I apologize in advance for yet another wedding question, but I haven't been able to find answers to this specific question.

I'm getting married in Mid-Sept. I'll be wearing a light grey Spier and Mackay suit (standard 2 button notch lapel), white shirt, white pocket square, and walnut AE Strands. I know the traditional groom tie is Glen Plaid or Houndstooth, but I'm concerned that a Houndstooth/Glen Plaid tie with the light grey suit and white shirt will be too much light neutral color, causing me to fade into the background. I have a pretty fair complexion (blond hair, blue eyes, though I do tan pretty well for a white guy, if that impacts anything). Can I wear a traditional Glen Plaid tie with this outfit or should I opt for a darker/more colorful option? All of the photos I can find of Glen Plaid ties are paired with dark suits (charcoal, navy).

Other options: https://www.thetiebar.com/product/31045, https://www.thetiebar.com/product/30839,

Also, cause I'm already here, a second question: I'm having my groomsmen (3 total) wear light grey suits of their own choosing. I'll provide the white pocket squares and ties. I know that its traditional that the grooms party doesn't match, but I would like to have some common thread tying them together. Knowing that they'll all have different suits of varying cuts and colors, would having them all wear this tie be too matchy?

What about having each of them wear one of these? The floral and navy blue giving them a common thread..

Thanks in advance!

Its your day and so if it looks OK to you then its fine. There are no such things as rules especially for a wedding day. The only thought I would have is to ensure that you would not cringe when looking at your album in forty years time. Changes in fashion don't matter in the slightest, just the general impression.

As for the camp followers there is nothing worse than a 'uniform' in whole or in part. You have chosen them because of their connect with you and so let them attend as that - as individuals. In any event those ties look insultingly cheap, so forget the idea of giving them anything, a group of friends being themselves is a far better thing to look back on, not something from rent-a-mob.

Thanks for the reply, it's helpful. To clarify, do those specific tie options look cheap? Or do ties from the tie bar in general look cheap? Any suggestions on ties that are in that price range that don't look cheap?

These look cheap in themselves and I would avoid them for any purpose other than wrapping a parcel.

Can't help you on prices: you could try Patricio Cappelli on line

I would choose a darker solid or grenadine tie, but I also wouldn't pick walnut strand shoes for a wedding, either, so...

Regarding your second question, there's a reason why those ties cost only $20, and, no, other $20 ties will still look, feel, and perform like $20 ties.

Thank you. I took GBR's advice and dropped the floral tie idea. Ended up ordering a bunch of dark blue textured ties (herringbone, grosgrain, etc) which seems to align with your recommendation.

Understood. I wear TheTieBar ties every day to work, and I'm happy with them. I have high confidence that they'll work just fine for my wedding.
