I hate this notion that has been propagated and accepted that people are supposed to "match" at formal and semi-formal events. Ugh.

I understand that perspective but most of these guys do not own suits, so it seemed like an easy way to go. I wouldn't really trust their judgement to go out and get something on their own and I don't have time to work with each of them on getting something worked out. They will all have different coordinated ties and possibly different shirts so that will hopefully break up the uniformed look a bit.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback, I'll be looking at some light gray 3 piece suits.
