There's a scene in the movie Hot Rod where Andy Samberg's character gives up on his childish dreams of being a stuntman and decides to become a responsible adult. Part of his transformation involves him wearing a polo/rugby shirt with a tie. It looks ridiculous, but it was hilarious in the context of the movie.

I say no, I wish I knew who strated this aful trend. If I ever meet this person god help them. Ties are meant to be worn with dress shirts and dress shirts only. Also to be properly worn under the shirt collar, not with polos, or t-shirts or any other type of shirt. I have seen this a lot latley and will make it a point to ridicule people who do this and publicly humiliate them.
