I'm planning a trip around February of next year to Australia. I've already decided I want to go up the coast from Sydney to Cairns to enjoy the beach life.
I've seen trips that also tack on 3 days going through the Northern Territory - Uluru to Alison Springs. Is it worth going to see it? Seems like a totally different vibe for the outback - I'm guessing not much partying to be had there.
Also, I've seen trips that offer sailing through the Whitsundays - is this a worthwhile excursion? I want to go diving on the great barrier reef, but I figure if I'm already going to places along the coast I will see the same thing. Any advice from anyone who's been?
Just a bit of background, I don't have a huge budget for this trip, but I'm looking for places that are good to party in and offer great opportunities for photos - I'm a bit of a photography nut.
