Here’s a pair I haven’t worn in a while. Vintage Lloyd and Haig with some AE clearance laces to give them a little color. The patina comes from long use and love. I had forgotten how the click of the v-cleat on hard surfaces is so reassuring (and loud). I think these are early 1970’s.

Super pickup. Yet another shoe I would love but not made in my width.

Don't despair. There are custom made pairs out there.

Florsheim 30343. Probably from 60s (vcleat position) but I think too far gone

more cheaper? Was it the leather? That’s all I can see in these shoes. Otherwise they look pretty solid. Just old and neglected

I was browsing YouTube and I found a lady who was preparing a 1920s wardrobe for a transatlantic cruise later in the year. Obviously, she also needed the proper shoes for her wardrobe and she made her 1920s flapper style shoes. Yes, the lady has game and some skills to go with it. It made me realize we can do something about the specific styles and sizes we can't find if we are willing to learn and go to the effort. I'm pretty sure I am not up to the task. This video should start at 12:30 where she actually starts making her shoes. Enjoy.

Vintage violation today, but someone mentioned they were looking for cap-toe spectators earlier this week, so I broke out the AE Sanfords. Coupled them with a white Panama hat for my 1/2 mile walk to lunch. Spiffy.
