Don’t know if the navy comes through? Footjoy classic. I have to do something about the tassel. Have a great Sunday.

Not my listing. I believe a few of you will fit into 9E. It is a size I can wear, but I've sworn off vintage shell.

AE Milfords in shell.

A few months back I found an old pair of 93602 Florsheims that I stripped, dyed and had resoled to approximate a pair of Golden Harvest shoes. Since then, I have been searching for another pair in my size for the next dye project. This means Ebay browsing 3-4 times per day. This can go on for years or you can suddenly luck out and find what you were looking for. Sure enough, some guy posted a pair and said, "Purchased from the estate of an elderly gentleman who had a plethora of nice things from around the world." I guess it was meant to be, as they were less than the new pair of AE Broadstreet spectators I was thinking of getting. I would rather have these. More photos later when I decide what to do with them. If you think visiting Ebay 3-4 times per day is excessive, I can report that this pair had been listed for just over an hour when I found them.

Excessive?! I’m worried that you may not be looking enough. Can’t wait to see what these look like on the other side of these soles.

Happy Monday forum pals. Time for a throwback photo from 2017. Classic black Florsheims when I want to get my Don Draper on.

Recently I was wearing these custom order 1958 Florsheim Spectators. Unfortunately, the heel leather on the right show rotted around the nails and started to crumble so I'll need to get new heels on them. I don't have a local cobbler that I trust with a shoe this special, so If anyone has any recommendations, I'd appreciate it.

Alan McAfee for Bullock & Jones San Francisco, an old name in town that last time I looked was online-only. Paired with made in SF Tellason selvedge jeans that I recently found on Ebay.
IMG_6469.JPG

Alan McAfee was a fixture of Swinging 60's London and for all I know he may have made shoes for Austin Powers. The company was eventually sold to Church's; the brand was retired, revived and retired again. I think these are 80's vintage.

The lettering looks like Church's to me. Similar to that on the Chetwynds I have, but more legible.

They were a $6 Salvation Army thrift in need of an immediate resole, but because they're probably CG (done well, but still) I didn't want to go full JR on them. So I had my cobbler put stock soles on. But I did insist on McAfee (AKA combination) heels. It seemed only fair.

Wyatt & Dad is amazing. There’s also Bedo’s. Both will understand the significance of these awesome shoes and care for them accordingly.

Those aren't *too* vintage. 2009, if I'm reading the code correctly.
