Who's got this '230' last you keep talking about?

It's the new 145 last. Duh

I have older pairs from 2016 etc. the length is about the same but the instep feels taller on current 2030.

I already asked the question above… is the 230 last viberg produces now different then the “old” 230 last and if so how? Bigger or smaller? I swear I’ve seen people here hint that the 230 is different now then it used to be?

he's teasing you because its 2030 not 230. There isn't a 230 last.

There are pattern changes to the service boot and some changes to the 2030 last itself that combined make a new 2030 fit a little differently to an older one. Regardless sizing remains the same and we don't recommend you change sizes between new vs old.

I just received my first 2030 D width.

I'm a low volume, normal-low instep person, so 2030E, the standard version, has always had too much volume around the instep, particularly the "new" 2030.

I have only tried on the 2030D and it fits much better around my instep with normal socks, which is what I typically wear with boots. It is also obviously narrower in the toe box, but no side to side movement as I have with E width.

Relative to Barrie, fits more like my normal D width in Alden.

Thanks. Do you mean to say a 10.5D in 2030 fits very similar to a 10.5D in Barrie? If so, any subtle difference you notice in heel, arch, and toe regions?

A 10D in 2030 fits like a 10.5D Barrie. I don't have enough wear time to answer those other questions, just an initial impression. I won't be buying any more 2030 that isn't D, however.

they made the dark rubber dublins as service boots last year. The natty essex ones too, but with BCTs. and there have been black cxl workshoebutt service boots in the past as well.

110 vs 2030 and Ridgeway soles make them very different to me
