I vaguely recall something about Viberg being able to do shearling lining on MTOs, does anyone know if that's been done/can be done?

Yes it can. But only on the 240 last, such as the hiker and Pachena Bay. I got a pair of hikers from the Lost and Found MTO in crust CXL with shearling and thinsulate. They are VERY warm

Also keep in mind that they come with a shearling footbed as well, which really isn’t designed to be removed. So order a half size larger than your usual 240 last, especially if you use inserts for arch support. I asked Viberg if I could get shearling on other lasts and they said no because the lasts would need to be modified. The 240 last was already modified for the one run of shearling lined Pachena Bay boots they made a year ago. I believe they had brown and natural shearling options.

The Shelby is definitely one of my favorite Viberg collaborations. The asphalt one is definitely the most underrated version. The horsebutt is really good.

I have to say, owning the top two pair and lusting over the third, these two pair of boots are easily the best I own! You are 100% correct that the asphalt horsebutt is an extremely underrated pair. Excellent pattern and I would highly recommend anyone here pick up any future makeups of this boot.
