I'm going to Las Vegas from Oct 13th - 17th for work and am going to have evenings and at least a couple of afternoons to myself so I want to check out the shopping.... it's my first trip to Vegas so I need some advice.

I'm staying at the Venetian-Palazzo Hotel and Casino if that helps.

I know about the big stores, hell there's a Barny's in my hotel and Dior is just a few minutes away but where else should I go (or avoid?)

Also up for suggestions about "must-see" and "must-do" stuff while I'm there without spending $1,000 a night!

For shopping, I guess I would suggest the Forum Shops at Ceasars and the Fashion Show mall is practically across the street from Venetian.

As for attractions, you can't really get that bored in Vegas if your staying for a few days. There are a lot of entertainment. During the day, stay at the Venetian pool, they are one of the best in the strip. Night-time, you can go to a show or a club, none of those should cost you more than $200-$300 a night, it could possibly be even less.

You can also spend one day just exploring the strip by walking around.

Along with the Barneys, there is a whole level with high(er) end shops in the Palazzo. Ralph Lauren (with full assortment of RLPL, RLBL, RRL), Ferragamo, ummm Thomas Pink, I think, and J. Crew.

Since you're staying at the Palazzo, make sure you also visit Dos Caminos located near the casino....

their Torta Hamburger is friggin awesome...
