fourth fighter in a row NOMASchecnko has made quit and really I didn't expect it from Rigo. Just wow. I don't even really think size played a role, Loma was just more skilled and faster and even more defensive with his movements, it was an insane display.

Rigo claims he broke his hand but how the hell is that possible when he didn't hit Loma? maybe from all the holding he hurt his hand when Loma tried to pull away from his grip

If Loma does move up, a Mikey Garcia then Terrence Crawford fight would be very, very interesting but I think Crawford might just be way too big for him.

didn't expect BJS would school Lemiuex like that, damn that was painful, made him look like an amateur swinging at air and being a punching bag

but maybe Canelo takes that Lemiuex fight now?

still don't think dude could do that to GGG though, probably not even against Jacobs

Someone was saying to me that this fight makes the Canelo-GGG rematch happen sooner rather than later, reason being:
a) Lemieux no longer a real credible opponent for Canelo
b) BJS' style is bad news for Canelo and could make him look terrible, I don't think Golden Boy wants that fight
c) Although GGG would still beat BJS IMO (he cuts the ring off really well and doesn't telegraph his punches), I don't think GGG will be particularly in the fight.

BJS-Jacobs would be an interesting fight IMO.

I don't know, I have a feeling the Lemiuex loss is the reason Canelo might just take the fight, should be an easy win and he can use the excuse that he is fighting at MW and this is a tune up or something.

I just don't see them rushing for a rematch especially if De La Hoya could age GGG even farther and maybe get him to fight someone else that would be difficult for him to beat.

Caught the Errol Spence/Lamont Peterson fight last night. Don't know what Peterson was thinking. He goes up in weight to fight Spence and decides to trade with him. Was exciting for first few rounds. Not a snorefest for sure. Check it out.

Saw the Wilder/Ortiz fight last night. Good fight. I didn't know much about Ortiz only that he had appeared on Showtime a few times and had a good Cuban amateur background. Anyway, he was doing good counterpunching Wilder for most of the fight. Also, had him rocked in the 7th or 8th. But Wilder tagged him in the 10th with some good rights and that was it. Great come from behind victory by Wilder, right?

So, I read the coverage this morning and see that Ortiz is 38YO! Have to re-evaluate my opinion of wilder. Has a good punch, which counts for alot in the heavies. I don't know if he can beat Joshua, though, who has pretty good skills.

Agreed! Wilder’s a really strong brawler with a chin, but his technical skill and fundamentals are questionable. AJ, I think, is a more polished and technically superior fighter.

I agree that AJ is technically superior to Wilder as most top heavyweights are, but I think Ortiz is one of the most tchnically superior heavyweights out there, more so than AJ so this fight made Wilder look particularly amateur in a way that I don't think Ortiz could.

Wlad made AJ look like a brawler for much of that fight too, remember.

In any case I think Parker will beat AJ so we may not see the AJ-Wilder fight this year.

The quality of the heavyweight division right now is terrible and is has been a for a good few years. I'm strongly of the opinion that Ortiz did what he was paid to do. He was well-ahead on any neutral observer's card, and could have finished Wilder (who pretty much boxes as his name suggests he should) but he basically held back and let Wilder win (but only after showing him and us what could have happened in a free and fair fight). Wilder is actually a pretty decent guy outside of the ring but he's a flat-out terrible boxer and several of his fights have clearly been fixed. He will lose to AJ, who isn't much cop either but he is a better boxer, and he will win because that's the deal that seems to be emerging. In a fair world, Ortiz would have been champion a few years back, but he just wasn't who the promoters wanted...

Canelo tests positive for Clenbuterol.

**** you Canelo.

And from "contaminated meat"... yeah, of course. Like all those other Mexican fighters. The same ready-made excuse.

Anyone who knows the science knows that you'd have to have eaten a **** tonne of the most contaminated parts of the most contaminated meat for the clenbuterol to turn up in your urine.

I thought the last time that I saw Canelo fight he looked awfully 'inflated' - there's no doubt in my mind he's a doping cheat (in addition to having the judges on his side).
