I'd like to see the bokeh on that f1.7 wide open. Am a fast lens freak. I use a Nikon D200 so that I can use some of my father's beautiful beautiful glass from the '70s and '80s, (incl the lovely 58mm Noct-Nikkor sitting on the camera on my desk right now), and though I will buy a new lens on occasion, I still buy mainly old stock on ebay. Snagged a mint 300mm f/4.5 for a hundred bucks the other day and it is a stunner. So there are some ways to use the older equipment today yet. ~ H

i am still a total noob, but got some okay noob bokeh of cars and traffic signals the other day.

i haven't had a ton of luck, but Michael Krell apparently has found a ton of decent SLR's and lenses just scouring local thift stores. i wish i were able to cast a wider net than ebay, and knew more about non-rokkor lenses.

speaking of fast lenses and bokeh, really want the 58 mm 1.2 rokkor... a handful seem to keep turning up on ebay, but i am either a day late or dollar short.
