I just quit my job to start my own business, and while I get that going I'm working for a friend's startup that they practically begged me to join. So I started on Monday and basically all I have done since then is chase people down trying to get some input on what I can do. I've put in what are effectively 2 12 hour days and gotten absolutely nothing done at all. I probably shouldn't care because I get paid either way and the enterprise is well funded enough that it can last for a year or two in this state, but I don't like spinning my wheels and feeling like I'm not contributing anything.
today, driving to work and on the lane on my right, a car ran over a cat. first thing I saw was the cat- an orange and white stray- squirming wildly on the pavement. as I drove past it, I saw that its lower face was crushed but the rest of its body is alright, and it was at this point jerking wildly obviously feeling tremendous pain. judging from its size its probably less than a year old. for a moment there I thought of running it over just to spare it further excruciating pain. I couldn't stop and I'm hoping the traffic cop several meters in front would notice the slight jam that happened.
Got a great bonus in my check...was going to buy a Rolex GMT II C, but decided to pay off my credit cards instead. I'm more heart broken instead of pissed...but I'm sure I made the right decision...I'm sure...I'm sure
go upstairs to watch tv. the wife comes up 10 minutes later phone in hand, yapping like there is no tommorow. i try to ask her to quiet down a little. dangerous move. no luck. i turn up the tv so i can hear. she says can you turn it down i cant hear
And the indignation in their voices when this happens. This is a fight you can win, by the way. I'm sure the TV can be set on a higher volume than your wife.
