is west hollywood where all the gay vampires hang out or something?

from wikipedia

West Hollywood is a city in California located in Los Angeles County. The city was incorporated on November 29, 1984. As of the 2010 census, its population is 34,399.[2] According to a 2002 demographic analysis, 41% of the city's population is made up of gay or bisexual men.[3]

note to self: stay away from West Hollywood.

Yeah, there are a lot of gay people in west hollywood. But its weird, a few miles in one direction you have some of the most exclusive retail shops around or you could go a few miles the other and your'e in the ******* ghetto. LA is a strange place.

It's like that in virtually every city. It's cool for high-end retail to be in a slum, makes the people who shop there feel edgier. Couple of years later it's gentrified and the stores are forced to move because the gap built a store.

(and the rent went up)

Not its not. The stores aren't in the ghetto. I don't feel any "edgier" when I shop there. LA is just a strange city. But most cities I have been in don't have high-end retail in a "slum."

why do you need to replace it?

I'm still ambivalent on the margiela uber-built shoulder thing, but it works pretty well in the context of this fit. good stuff

Super-shoulder is one of the reasons. It's a little tight in the chest, and combined with power padding it kind of makes me look like the grinch.

as a general rule i'm not a fan of the super-shoulder when worn with jeans, but i think that looks really good on you. wear it open if it's tight in the chest... margiela lookbooks often feature jackets worn open anyway, just makes you look even more louche and relaxed/sleazy

Okay, so I've been looking at this for a while.

Then I look at the (as I write this) 36 thumbs-ups.

Then I look back at the picture.

And I am just not getting it.

I am perfectly prepared to admit that I may be missing the cultural reference points here and much more besides. So, I'd really like you, or someone else who liked this, to explain what is good about this fit, apart from the fact that it's tween_spirit, and we all like him here because he's a great contributor who has a serious knowledge of obscure Japanese fashion. Serious request; I'm genuinely puzzled.

I thought they were in Basildon. Maybe that is were their warehouse is. I do admit the UK is way different then what you see in the US so I don't doubt you. I didn't realize that LN-CC was in the ******* ghetto. I talk to someone there at least once a day, it seems, as I buy tons of stuff from them so I will give them a hard time.

LN-CC is the best retailer around right now by a large margin so maybe I'm wrong. Have fun, I hear their retail store is just ******* incredible.

regular contributor
not a cell phone mirror shot
wearing a piece that is sort of out there but with other familiar clothes, in a way that doesn't make the viewer feel uncomfortable
relief about said piece after being unsure about it
asserting to the community that you 'get' it
handsome as ****

for real though, I think the biggest one is that 'relief' that it's not all that bad, when people most likely had doubts about big baggy khaki shorts (although they're so much more than that). you'll notice a few people even commented on how it's better than they first thought it would be.
