Saw this yesterday, name change threw me off. Thought it might be a hoax.
Then realised it was still the offical site.

This is Xhevdet, Rexhep’s brother. Xhevdet worked with Rexhep, but they had some falling out.

I thought you were joking, but nope. Their names really sound like they came from a fictional scifi alien language.

Or, just Albanian. Pretty curious about how that breakup occurred.

Someone at Bloomberg is definitely into watches.

You aren’t kidding.

I will say this - perhaps some people have gravitated towards independents because they cannot get a Rolex or AP or PP. But I do not think that is much of the case at all. If you can drop $150,000 or more on an independent, and wait three - five years for it to be in your hands, you are probably not doing that because you cannot get a Rolex or AP or PP. Indeed, if you can afford to collect independents, you probably spend enough that you could get most any Rolex or AP or PP.

Far more likely, it is because independents are where the most interesting and well-finished watches are being made. Further, whether this is illusory or not, independents feel far more authentic.

More and more, I wish that the mainstream brands (with the exception of Rolex, and even Lange) moved a little more methodically and purposefully. The number of different watches being pumped out is crazy. Patek came out with 25 new references last year! AP “dropped” (and I use this word intentionally) well over 50 references (including colors), which is bonkers. These designers have to be absolutely exhausted.
