Hey guys, I'm looking to buy my brother a briefcase as a gift for getting into law school (Around $300 price tag). I prefer brown leather with the option to attach a shoulder strap if possible. In terms of sizing, something large enough to fit a 13" laptop (i.e. not too big or small). Thanks gents!

Something similar to this:
https://www.jackspade.com/waxwear-commuter-brief/098689917092.html

I like the style of this, but it may be a little impractical for law school. The textbooks they used when I was there (~5 years ago) were still pretty thick, and if he's spending a whole day studying at the library he may sometimes want to carry more than one.

If sticking with the svelte style, I would buy @burgerkong's for $120.

A buddy of mine had this $800 bag, and I was jealous pretty much EVERY DAY for three years. http://www.saddlebackleather.com/front-pocket-leather-briefcase. I just used a ****** backpack from first year undergrad.

I would not go with a rollie. I've been rolling a leather one around for the last few weeks while preparing for a hearing and I'm beginning to really hate it. Plus, I don't recall seeing anyone else doing that.

HR always has a ton of Eton shirts on sale. Some markdowns are better than others. Let us know how the deals are!

Didn't find any decent Eton shirts in my size. I'm pretty conservative ie. only looking for plain/clean patterns but nothing to be found.

I did however picked up a JP Tilford shirt that seem to have more features (split yoke, gussets) than Eton shirts for $80.

Also found an unstructured jacket in my size for 65% off, perfect for traveling!

Then I drove over to Spier & Mckay and broke my S&M cherry and got 4 shirts and 2 wool pants for fairly good price. The SA there was actually quite helpful.

I recently had a tuxedo altered at Xavier Custom Tailors thanks to recommendations from this thread. His work is fantastic and I'd also recommend him.
I also had work done recently based on recommendations from this thread and extremely satisfied with the outcome. Their opening hours sucks though, it's quite a challenge to make it there by 5....

Hey guys, putting a PSA out for anybody interested in a rare staple suit.

I bought a NWT solid charcoal Dunhill suit recently but decided to return it. I'm offering it up here before it goes back for $1300 CAD.

It's this suit here (not my pic obviously):

It's one of the best OTR makes in my opinion.

- Size 40R (Drop 8) in the famed Belgravia Fit (English silhouette)
- High arm holes, roped shoulder, mid rise trousers, and classic width lapels
- Fully canvassed and made by Zegna
- Completely unaltered.

Here's what the Belgravia fit looks like:

https://www.dunhill.com/wx/suits_cod34697543rk.html#dept=tlrng

Took some quick measurements:

Shoulder: 17.75'
Chest: 20'
Length (BOC): 30.5'

I'm not posting it in the B&S thread yet

I definitely wouldn't have been jealous of that bag. It weights what, 10 lbs before you put anything in it?

When I went (2004-7), most of us had the back packs that had the slot for laptops. It worked for the 3 years. As I was about to graduate, I noticed 1st years with the rolleys. I hate them too. But I use one almost everyday.

The $800 bag is pretty sweet. But that's also very steep. Not sure I would even buy one for that price. I would try looking for a Maxpedition bag instead.

Well they will no longer pay the 18% import duty.... Whether they pass that on to the consumer is another thing, I wouldn't bet on it.

I'm thinking the larger opportunity is direct import on EU goods.
