Cod Salmon and Scalops Fish Pie with green aspergus and this Pouilly Fumé. My taste pallet regarding this kind of wine is not there yet, but the combination is great! Not to overwhelming in taste, it matched the pie and aspergus nicely.

Was expecting more oomph. Maybe I didn't get a great bottle.

Yeah, an odd one. The initial reviews tended towards it perhaps being too extracted/concentrated and more contemporaneous impressions are also generally of the "lots and lots of fruit, still rather primary" variety. I do see a couple of others finding it "muted" and "austere" as I did. Who knows? You win some, you lose some.

Looks great. Giving the Searzall a workout -- what cheese did you go for, manchego?

I am taking no chances tonight with unexpectedly-wimpy wine.
