1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Grr. I like my bolos, thank you. But as someone mentioned, that's the nice thing about clothes - there are an infinite number of them!

I agree with the sentiment... I'd seen a couple of bolos in a thrift store earlier in the day, which was the only reason I thought of them. [IMG]

Good luck homie. I still bear the psychic scars inflicted during the administration of the Ohio and Michigan exams. Only two more months to go!

freakin A I forgot to look u up when I was in Da Black Swamp last week (Archbold) to bury my dad. It was on my list. We will hang next time I'm in town, which has been 3x in the last 5 months. Long MF'n drive from New Hampshire, let me tell u that.

OK, the Thrift Gods have been smiling on me like few other times in my career this week. Instead of boring your asses with the brain dump, I submit Rubinacci coat and my first Belvest. Oh, and Italy Polo Camel Hair and vinyl finds du jour (near mint...total purchase on the vinyl $1.78):

I reluctantly vote for the white one...The other ones were way too clashing and takes away from your madras.

    Recent non-clothing thrift randomness...

Thinking I can get rid of these together

Seems like these would flip better if they each had mates... If anyone wants these for their exercise room/bar/man cave, get at me with an equally oddball trade.

    Because I'm a bit of a space/nasa geek

Not an uncle for a few months, but hell I would have bought it if it said grandma.

The crown jewel of the post

Tallship decanter. It came with a stopper, but I'm pretty sure it's not the right size as it doesn't seat itself properly.

R.A.M. double LP not thrifted but helped add some contrast to the background to help see the ship. First vinyl I've ever purchased new.

Nat, great haul. Im happy you scored after so long.

You have a PM as well.

Greg, that fit took you about 20 paces back sartorially. Sorry bro. Pinstripe orphys and a full fu rig?

Nope, that label is about 2000-2002. current label is black.

They actually fit great. Slimmer than I expected. These are a 32 waist and I usually wear a 30. Stitching seems really nice. Lots of single stitch, nice lining for pockets etc. Excited to really put them through their paces.

Those look very nice. I pass on Coppley periodically -- did today, in fact, on a custom made mid-gray suit in a very large size. Didn't measure, but it SWAM on me -- maybe a 50L. Did I err?
 As I said over in WAYRN, I suspected nobody would like the fit. Personally, I had fun with it (and got many complements, too, though of course that doesn't count much around here) and still regret nothing. If you look carefully, all the colors play off each other: blue in tie pulls out blue in belt, shirt, jacket, square dots; brown in square echoes brown inside the stripes on the jacket, stripes of shirt; yellow on trou ties to yellow in belt and tie, and so on. The SC is definitely, categorically not an orphan. Look at those stripes: white surrounding brown, and at least 1/4" wide. WAY too loud for a full suit. Also, it's pure linen. Abomination or no, this was intended as a striped separate (which, unless I'm greatly mistaken and though anathema now, were not at all uncommon at the turn of the 19th/20th century). Don't worry; I'm just having a bit of fun and warming up my sartorial muscles as I'm returning to work full time. Though, I will admit, one does get out of practice on this stuff.... One find today: Pair of enameled One Pence piece cufflinks from some store I don't remember. The coin front had the field portion colored in a dark ruby red. Quite striking, and in great condition. Useless without pics, I know. Maybe I'll use them tomorrow in a fit.

Are Edwin jean jackets any good? The prices seem to vary quite a bit. Are some better than others?
