Southwick was purchased by Brooks Brothers a couple of years ago, and I believe moved the factory, but it's still USA made. I'm unaware of any off shore Southwick. They make a quality garment, but they're really known for the 3/2 sack. You see them a lot in independent men's shops.
I came across what seemed to be his entire shirt wardrobe. There were a lot of Owens Morgan store brand shirts, but they had monograms on the cuffs. There were a couple of older Zegnas with forward point collars, and a Brioni with one of those dry cleaning ID tags (with his name on it, "Sullivan") above the Brioni label and his monogram on the cuff. I skimmed off the cream of the crop.

I've been lurking for quite some time now, but I just wanted to say I bought a Sulka navy SB unvented suit undoubtedly donated by the same guy. The store(s?) must be putting his stuff out a little at a time, because I bought the suit last week, and I made sure to comb the store to see if there was anything else of that level there at the time, but no luck.

If any of you KC guys ever want to sell or trade locally, send me a PM. (I don't really have anything to trade because I only buy my size, but on the off chance that I do...)

I paid more than $10 for a pair of shoes for the first time since I began thrifting (I think). I found pair of Salvatore Ferragamo Studio horsebit loafers (10D) that are currently getting a little attention at the cobbler so $24 (!) plus $16 for touch up work, makes them a $40 pair. I'm good with that. Here's a pic that looks like the correct shoe but the toe on mine looks rounder to me. Dunno. They wanted $30 but I got the seniors' discount since it's Wednesday.

Hello! I am new to the forum but have been searching SF for quite some time. I currently, and in the past, have used the forum as an informative guide to style; mainly to research quality and fit of different items.

Anyway, the reason why I chose to introduce myself in this particular thread is because I have began thrifting (its hard to purchase new clothing when its your first year in the workforce and you need to payback those hefty college loans) and have come across some great items, but have also come across my share of counterfeits. I come here as a sponge, many of you are extremely knowledgeable and informative. I wish to learn from you on how to date different items and pick the quality over the not so quality, and hopefully in the future feel comfortable enough to post with the big boys and dabble slightly in eBay flipping. With that said, I have an item that I am unsure of. Please forgive me if this may seem obvious to some but I have come across a D&G polo and have used google to try and help me determine the authenticity of the item but I have never come across an item by D&G before. To be honest, I have never even seen a D&G item up close. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind helping a "newbie" out. Thanks in advance!

Not too shabby tie day. Some dude had a thing for Zegna, since there were no other high end ties to be found beyond these.

Also, I know almost nothing about Coach stuff, so if someone could help me authenticate this belt, it'd be much appreciated. I was skeptical at first since it's made in China, but the little googling I did do suggests that they have shifted production facilities to China now, and Chinese-made ones can be legit. It smells like real leather, not the fake stuff, and the buckle seems really heavy like you'd expect with real brass. Anyhow, if anyone has thoughts, thanks in advance.

Hells yeah, pending photoz I will buy that ****.

So what other recognizable PRL knits are there, besides the bears? I could be the owner of a small 8th grade fortune. :D

P.S. I swear that Polo gangsta **** was a Mr. Show sketch. Is that for real?

@Mainy: Probably a 41R, so I typically try on any interesting 40R or 42R jacket I find. 34-35x30 pant, 15.5-16/33-34 dress shirts. 10-10.5 shoes, medium width. I also keep an eye out for my brother who is a 44R, 38-40x30, 16.5x34-35.

My guess is it may not be as desirable as the bear. but I wouldn't be surprised if it's worth something. Ironically, I have the PRL Steiff Teddy Bear wearing the suit. Still has the box. My mom collects Steiffs and she gave it to me to put up when my son was born.
