Hans, are you in town?

If that were my dog, he’d have a leash attached to him with a nervous guy at the other end trying to simultaneously make polite conversation while keeping an eye on the dog. I’m jealous of people that can let their dog off a leash and know that they will follow.

I can’t tell you how many times people with their dogs have stopped me and said “Oh, you can let him off the leash to play.” I have to reply “I would let him off the leash if I thought I wouldn’t spend the next 48 hours walking around looking for him.”

Seriously though, I’m glad I’m not the only idiot that puts a hat on a dog. This picture is from a couple of years ago, but he just had his birthday yesterday.

Recent finds...

Nothing available at the moment.

Nice ties. The brands aren't thread favorites or anything, but half of them are from E. Braun & Co. in Vienna and are either NWT or NWOT. E. Braun & Co. was a store that had several locations, even NYC I believe. H&M moved into the property in Vienna a while back, but the plaque is still outside the storefront.

These are awesome and I may have normal lenses put into them:

I can't remember what leather this is, deer? It's velvety, can anyone remind me as I have a few pairs of gloves with it?

This watch was free. It works well but has some damage. I can't get a blade under the back to pop it open to see the movement. Any tricks to doing this when you can't get them open? Alternatively, does anyone know this watch or is it Soviet?

Onto another question. This is stamped 18k and 750 (indicating 18k gold). Should I just take it to a jeweller to find out for sure? I assumed it was fake and went over part of it with a buffer thinking it would immediately show the base metal. The Dremel got away from me and it nicked the side and the the metal was still gold in the scratch. Is that good news?

I bought this for 50 cents for the exclusive purpose of posting it. I've seen a ton of Belstaff fake stuff, but this one sort of seems like it's just a bad idea they had in the '80s. Anyone know?

Corneliani are old but were nice. I took a gamble on the other pair, had never heard of them.

Checking their website, this is much higher quality than what they're currently selling:

Shoes aren't anything too exciting. Tod's, Adidas Dropshot, Hogan, Car Shoe, Hogan.

Jury is still out on the Chanel. My gut said it was real. Burn test makes it appear to be wool/silk or cashmere/silk. It's huge.

This one might be framed I like it so much. There's one small stain, but I might be willing to live with it.

Picked up this Tumi about a week ago that overall is in very good condition minus some exterior wear as pictured. Any recommendations on how to best bring some life back to the exterior? I am aware Tumi sells a leather conditioner product but if anyone has found success with other products, that info would be appreciated.

Bick 4 to condition the leather and then touch it up with some black shoe cream (not wax)

For the nylon, try a few drops of non scented liquid dish soap in warn water and then give it a light scrubbing with a soft bristle brush. Baby shampoo also works. Wipe it down with clean water after and air dry

I have a clean 90s usa made Tumi rollaboard. Some slight fading on the ballistic nylon. I used some black Rit dye. Not totally the same shade (rit is a warmer tint), but better than before.

For the leather trim, just black kiwi shoe polish. They aren't worth a whole lot but it's nice to have some luggage that's still made in the states.
