A cobbler could probably rig up a repair, and I'd probably go that route, though there might be some awkward stitching. You could also call/email Ferragamo and tell them the truth about where you got the shoes, and offer to buy a replacement tassel. Some companies, in my experience, will just send you a free replacement.

P.S. Swanson's in Wallingford do good work. Do you have a go-to for shoe repairs?

For the vintage audio buffs (excuse the storage-unit potato pix): just pulled this out of a swap meet for ten bucks. Early 80s belt drive whacky 5120 turntable from always-eccentric, but inventive NAD. Check out that tonearm made out of what's essentially phenolic circuit board. The Brits dissed the design and essentially shamed NAD into going back to a tubular tonearm, but the design turned out to have legs, and these are now highly regarded units for those who like to be meticulous about their setup, as they can be adjusted to the nth degree. Not Tier 1 stuff, but still decent and unusual.

I have had several shoes and boots resoled and some shank work done on a pair of Frye boots. All done by Broadway Shoe Repair and I have no complaints. I will check out Swansons as I have a few other repairs that I need to get taken care of. Much appreciated!

This shirt made me so insanely happy when I found it on the bay... Vintage 1990s souvenir t-shirt from Hueco Tank State Historic Park (near El Paso, TX). This is the place that gave me my most used online screen name (FreeHueco (I've been shortening it to Fueco for a long time)). I spent six weeks camping and climbing there in the winter of 1997-98, so this brings back some memories.

So I thrifted a sacai shirt last week and gave it to my wife because she wanted a flannel to wear over her clothes when it gets chilly in her office and she thought it looked cool even though she had never heard of sacai before. I was like that's a cool flex, done.

Today we pop met friends for lunch in the city, did some holiday shopping, and popped into a gw on our way back. My wife remembered the sacai label and found a friggin coat.

I don't thrift shoes generally but these were in my size and are without a doubt the most 2010 internet menswear era shoes of all time. Buttero camo suede double monks. They're not too loud and for $20 I can wear for lolz. I'd suspect they came right out of nick Wooster's closet but I doubt he wears size 42.

I rarely visit this shop due to their bonkers prices. However, this caught my eye:

What's this, a Christmas freebie? Sounds too good to be true...
Indeed, free was too good to be true. The manager came over and explained that the jacket had mistakenly been put out before being priced. I asked how much and was expecting something ridiculous like £80, so my eyes glazed over when I heard "£95." She must've been puzzled by my blank stare so she repeated herself.
