Does anyone know the best way to clean this up? Has black marks from use all over it.

Just soap and water or is there a better way?

sig check :

this is a longstanding mystery that i'd love to resolve ... over the years i've seen several pieces from all over the usa with the same mark . additionally i've seen some obviously related pieces with a different signature ! ( the 2nd sig clearly says Kelly ) .

so these date to the mid-80s and obviously feature the same clay and tooling . is it a studio ? a teacher and student ? i have no idea .

i also have no idea if this is right side up or not . what say you ?

Had a interesting day yesterday.
Popped into a store where they were bringing out a box with some marble items .
Two dealers stuck their hands in and pulled out some bookends but they skipped over these so I took a closer look.
Turns out its a very important canadian sculptor .
I think they should fetch 1000 to 1500 each as he rarely worked in pink marble (maybe alabaster?)
I paid 9.99 each and rubbed the dealers noses in it.
His name was elford bradley cox, gonna put these in an art house auction in spring and see what happens but comps look very good.

2024 is off to a good start so far despite finally coming down with covid at the beginning of january. story time:
IMG_6557.jpeg

i picked up this AG heavyweight classic hoodie for ~7 bucks earlier in the week. not overhyped in the slightest, an amazing piece. apparently also the canary in the coal mine, as i circled back to the store the other day and found these:
IMG_6559.jpeg

a slubby pink AG tee, 2x 3sixteen in black, and 2x iron heart in gray and navy. Not a bad starter set.
IMG_6552.jpeg

and this Outlier shacket is in fact experiment 039, or the S120 2 pocket, made in NYC with a now discontinued 17.5 micron thai merino. in great shape too, which only adds to my keep or flip anxiety.

more choice cuts from saturday -
IMG_6563.jpeg

another great green label handknit, has an indigo cowichan thing going on
IMG_6564.jpeg

sandro paris oversized cardi, seemingly nwot, alpaca blend big houndstooth
IMG_6565.jpeg

IMG_6567.jpeg

usually cole haan outerwear is overpriced and not terribly impressive, but I liked this US made 'country' line suede shirt
IMG_6560.jpeg

IMG_6561.jpeg

and honest to god i think this is my first time picking up PZ -
IMG_6568.jpeg

'concept' line blazer with a bevy of cool details; removable gilet collar, tonal elbow patches, suede trim, etc
IMG_6570.jpeg

also nwot tags, pockets basted shut and extra buttons in an interior pocket
IMG_6571.jpeg

i picked up these mj sport shades the other month- super lightweight, polarized, made in japan, they've been my daily drivers of late
IMG_6574.jpeg

lo and behold, same store this weekend I find a backup pair in black
IMG_6575.jpeg

3.99 each, and the case was a buck at the next store. the thrift gods are good!
lots to catch up on, good luck out there!
