clars is in oakland, ca btw heck you might contact them

for sure doesn’t hurt to get multiple opinions. don’t know much about clars, just know swann has highly-regarded specialists in works on paper, and rago-wright were two modernist auction powerhouses that recently merged, and as such generally attract/hire some of the best in their fields.

more research could turn up specialists in this particular artist as well. will do some looking in a bit.

Alan Paine surrey jacket nwt 20% retail but thought it looked nice on me except arm length
Corneliani wool/cashmere 13 euro. Altered and need taking in again after corona messed up gym going

got this little guy today, all carved out of a single piece of wood—even the bow’s string. I know it’s Pacific Northwest by the colors and the attire, but wondering if anyone here knows what deity the mask is referencing? haven’t had much time to look up, but what little I could do fell flat.

Okay crew, especially the art guys and maybe literature, found something which could be very interesting.
So I won an online estate sale auction which had dozens of posters and prints. I liked it because there was a signed Leroy Neiman print although not in great condition but I like Neiman stuff.
Anyway, picked up the lot today and while mostly filled with junk, there was a small folded piece of paper with 12 sketches.

Numbered 1 thru 12 and I took the back of the last one because they all have that collection director stamp.
Now, a little research tells me that Federico Garcia Lorca was a Spanish poet who was assassinated in 1927. His famous work was Romancero Gitano and pics online of sketches are very similar to these. These do look old but I am cautious to get too excited they could be originals of some kind.
So, what might any of you know or think about these?
Very much appreciated and keeping my fingers crossed.

Another avenue would be to hit up this dude or another scholar: https://us.macmillan.com/books/9780374526917

Just a small correction about his death date. He was assassinated by Falangist troops in the early days of the civil war 1936. He was however part of the generation of '27 amongst other Spanish intellectuals and artists.

Having corrected you on that fact, I must congratulate you to an absolute stellar find if they turn out to be bueno. Congratulations

If anyone wants to read more about him.

Threads just in hibernation guys. I mentioned i've got a ton of **** to post, I'm just trying to find the time to do it. Crazy life **** seems to keep popping up right when I think things might be getting back to normal.

I lost my sister to cancer this week, which was not unexpected as she had been sick for a while, but the speed with which it overtook her was heart breaking. She was a warm and gentle soul and only 41 years old. Needless to say its really fucked my family up.

I was going to go to Cali this week for an undetermined amount of time for work but decided to stay due to my sisters declining health. A few days ago a new house basically fell in my lap, so I'll be moving this week but will hopefully have time and space to snap a bunch more photos and post my finds from the last 6 months or so.

This thread was like a family to me for so long, and I consider many of you my friends and colleagues. I really hope to start contributing again very soon. Hug your loved ones today and tell them how much they mean to you, as you never know how much time you've got left. Cheers yall.

@eazye Condolences to you and your family brother. It’s been just over three months since I lost my dad and every day has been a roller coaster since. I am sending good vibes and energy your way. I hope with time, your family find some form of peace.

Not thrifted, found these pocket squares at an estate sale on the way home yesterday. Paid more than I would like at $20/ea but still a good deal.
