1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I'm happy with this shit right here. Finna get me a bottle of wine and a karaoke song next.

Boring ties and a scarf, amazing near deadstock Vuarnet Skilynx 002, leather Moto vest. Avirex vintage shearling B6 is incredible. Reversible coat is Nappa and LP Covert cloth.

Oh, and 30 NWT Trafalgar belts. Some "special" ones.

I have recently become interested in menswear and have been lurking around the forum for a week or two just reading and being envious of all your sweet thrift finds. I'm 30 years old and a while ago decided it was time to step my game up, sartorially speaking. It's obvious that a lot of the members here are crazy knowledgeable and I look forward to learning and growing from the wealth of information here and elevating myself to above total noob status. Cheers.

Here's some of my work from this past week. Few are actually in my size, which is exciting, as I'm slowly building my personal wardrobe. Some are to sell:

    sweet Trafalgar silk suspenders
    [IMG]

Brioni, RL and BB shirts (RL is NWT)

Same Brioni shirt from above. Placket front and bitchin' cuff buttons

    Coach and Christian Dior belts
    [IMG]

Zegna cotton shirt (my size [IMG])

Unworn Zegna polo (also my size [IMG][IMG])

Stefano Ricci jeans (personally, do not like but apparently they sell well)

BB slim fit non-iron, either unworn or very well cared for. Also in my size! Woo
    [IMG]

Kinda cool older RL with crest on pocket
    [IMG]

Older Burberry Prorsum sport coat. Can't find another like it with the peak lapels and watch pocket (??) Gold buttons on this rule, doe
    [IMG]

Last but certainly not least, 4 Brioni pocket squares for the low. There was a pretty extensive collection of Brioni ties from I assume the same donor, including the matching patterns for these but they wanted $18 apiece for them, so I passed, as I wasn't in love with any of the patterns and they didn't seem worth it for re-selling. They mostly all had a small gold chain on the backs with a little "Brioni" plaque. Would those be vintage or current? They were all in pristine condition so I couldn't really tell age...that and I mostly don't know what the fuck I'm doing [IMG]

I feel like I got some decent stuff. Any input from those more well informed more than welcome!

Dirt... Welcome aboard and very solid first post. Impressive finding Brioni.

The stuff that isn't super flippable is for you....which I do all the time. What's fun about this is in a few years you'll see stuff you at one time would have bought and now don't give a 2nd glance too.

Thanks, man! Definitely looking forward to learning the ways haha It would be nice to not have to pull my phone out every 5 mins and check the sold listings when I'm not sure about something. Or be walking back and forth across the store like an indecisive crazy person.

Major shout-out to @dadjeans for a great pair of C&J chukkas and @vexco for a sweet swap-box. Loving my new snap-T man!

And a single minor personal pick-up recently, a NWT orange schott down vest. Should see plenty of wear in the mid to late fall and will definitely make an appearance on Halloween:

Welcome @Dirt! That Burberry coat isn't Prorsum tho, despite what it says on the little flag. Can't see on my phone but the watch pocket is probably a ticket pocket. Some nice finds.

The hardest thing for me in thrifting is to STOP having a 'found!' jolt when I find things that used to sell well but which no longer do. There was a time I'd pick up Chicos Travelers items in any color, any size, and they'd sell like hotcakes. Now? Pfft. With the exception of the largest size, the brightest prints, and mid-summer, I can't even give them away. But I still get that little shock when I find them. And then I pass them by.

Perhaps stylish men's clothing have less of that sort of thing (or men have always been smarter than to wear slinky acetate fabrics).
