Some of the P.S.'s were Stuart's Choice. Is this German made?
View attachment 864875

Yes, that's a Regent tag.

Didn't know they made for anyone else, but definitely a Regent tag.

Wow, I'm impressed someone answered that! @Mr G from SD is correct, it's Regent, a German company. The last one I posted was from a few months ago, but I always say they're like a German Oxxford. They do beautiful work and have a price to match. Their suits and jackets from the last 5 or so years are far more modern in cut and fabric than some of their older stuff

I've seen them do work for small, private stores. Quite a few years ago, they also used a small fabric tag that simply said "handmade" on the interior side seam or pocket. I haven't seen that or a while though.

That's interesting. I don't know much about German manufacturers, and it's great to hear that there are still some good ones. I see a lot of one specific German tag (the one in low end Boss) in various high street brands ('mall brands' for the Americans, right?) but I've not seen much of note.

Late reply, but I’ve left the only Brioni orphans I’ve found. They’re always indistinguishable from old JAB, Farrah, etc. :(

Thanks to you both, @Mr G from SD and @HansderHund! I like the sound of "German Oxxford" haha they are really well done, nice MOP buttons, light but quality light l, and a really well done dual vent that I love.

If there is any German maker that I love to have in my closet, it's Regent. Unfortunately, the EU has (at least as of a year or two ago) no law that states that manufacturers need to state the country of manufacture on clothing. Given the fact that EU law is consumer-friendly, I have no idea why this is. In fact, many manufacturers omit this information, including Zegna. I can't remember the last time I found a Zegna jacket made for Europe that had Italy or Switzerland on the neck or content tag. It makes you wonder where these things are being made.

On a bizarre note, right after I posted about not having found Regent in a while, I immediately hit a store and found this. Quarter-lined, silk/linen:

I think Regent makes for Peter Millar as well. I have really been impressed with the ones I have.

Imagine my excitement at seeing this... View attachment 865184

Followed immediately by the disappointment of the jacket being a generic Harris tweed and no Zilli to be found.
Damn...maybe if they let you purchase that hanger and use it like a divining rod it will lead you to the Zilli.
Man, uk thrifting suuuucks.
That's a damn dirty thing to have happen. And to have them try to fleece you for 65 quid for Harris just takes the cake. Nothing good gets away, though. Keep a sharp eye out, just means some Zilli is out there. Best luck.

Well, £5 for Alfred Sargents down south isn’t bad. :slayer:
