I've been out there twice for black tie awards events. In both cases it took forever to get there from downtown. I mean, about 75+ minutes at 4pm. And, it was nearly impossible getting an uber back to downtown at around 10pm. Captive audience doesn't even describe how remote it is from downtown DC. I would never go there voluntarily.

This is exactly how I feel about going to DC!

Went to NH like 8 years back purely to go to the casino for a night out with a friend who was a few weeks away from his first child. It was a good time, the food at the restaurant we went to (can't remember the name, some sports bar type place) sucked, my friend hit his lucky number on the roulette table, I made a killing at blackjack, we all got ridiculously drunk and I don't remember how I got back to DC.

Met friends in National Harbor last night for dinner. I wore an unlined navy seersucker jacket from Fox Bros and was, once again, the only person in tailoring.

Also, NH completely sucks. Chain restaurants and sterile, pre-planned environment. Friend was in for a convention/conference and staying there. McCormick & Schmick's was full so we ate at Fiorella's, a really substandard Italian place. Like one step up from Carrabbas or Olive Garden. Yuck.
National harbor is great for people who live around there. But not for city folk.

wouldn’t use it for a trip overseas. But there are other uses, I agree. Other problem is, idk what I’d order from them. But either way, I figured I’d mention they’ll be here in the thread. I like Dalcuore’s aesthetic, however. Just don’t know what I’d have made.

I've seen enough in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia and prefer to book trips overseas for debauchery. I don't get the same utility out of clothes.

Heading back to Spain next month!!!!

Agree with all about the restaurants in the NH.

I did have a decent meal at the Voltaggio Brothers Steakhouse in the Casino. I didn't pay, so cant say if it was worth the expense, but it was an above average steak dinner.

I like Voltaggio's places in Frederick. Good chow.

Same. Volt was great. But, when they made it more casual after the shutdown, I think it became even better.
I liked Family Meal as well. All his places changed names so I'm guessing he went through a restructuring.

Thatcher and Rye. Had to look up the name. My wife and I went up there in the spring and sat outside on the patio. As you might expect from the name, they serve a lot of whiskeys.

Yeah, I haven’t been there yet but have been to whatever Family Meal is called now. Still good stuff.

At the National Gallery checking out the James MacNeil Whistler exhibit. Very nice.
