I've been to the Green Pig a few times for happy hour. IIRC, they make a mean Dark & Stormy.

At Roer's Zoofari in Reston this morning. Happy to report the there was a lot of social distancing (at least among the humans) and mask-wearing. Oh yeah, the daughter and wife were quite happy too :)

@CollingsD2H You need another watch... i did not have a pilot in my collection, so without dropping IWC or Breitling money, decided to get this Hamilton... While I liked the interstellar movie, I can't say I am a huge fan of it... but having a link to this movie is a plus thru this watch

After much searching.... I ended up using ”Custom Tailor of Columbia” in the Columbia mall. His name is Richard. He is not the cheapest, but trustworthy and not outrageous for pricing.

I used to use the tailor in the Dobbin area, but his shop was destroyed last year in that gas explosion..... I am not sure if he reopened somewhere else. He was also reliable, and slightly less costly than tailor in the mall.

For really complex stuff (I bought a Formosa suit off luxeswap, that had working buttons at the cuff, and I need the sleeves shortened from the shoulder) I will make the trip to see William at Field Custom in DC. But this requirement is rare, I trust Richard with just about every job (except that Formosa shoulder job)

For cleaners, I just use the one closest to my house..... I don’t even know their name, just the cleaners next to the grocery store near my house.

Hope this helps.

Side Note, any interest in a “north or DC meetup” when things are a little safer? Maybe outdoors at the Guinness brewery? (This is open to anyone, not just @bmoredcstyle )

If anyone is looking for a new commission, Cad & The Dandy will be in town this weekend. I'm getting my first fitting and have a very positive positive impression so far.

Damn, just read through that full thread. On the one hand, the reviewer's body shape seems like it would be really difficult to fit. On the other hand, I can't imagine spending that much time and frustration and still get an only so-so end product. I'm curious about the cost though. The reviewer said £2k for full bespoke 3pc which seems...low? $2600 is probably where you'd be for mtm using a good fabric right?

Steed’s MTM was under $2k for a two-piece and just over that for a three-piece and their customer service is stellar. Same with Ezra Paul. Not sure I would bother with CATD even before reading the horror show.

Some of the SR tailors have garments produced in India to keep the prices down.
