back from a long posting hiatus because i'm a pleb...

as many of you will know the viridianne, while being a premier gothninja label, was never very famous for making artisanal footwear. but sometime around 2013 (?) i think they began to use a much better shoemaker than most big fashion houses do.

i saw this pair and liked it, goodyear construction, leather very thick and supple, somewhat edgy design. interesting innovation is a layer of crepe in between the stacked sole, which makes it quite comfortable - break in only requiring a few hours.

so this brand is something to consider, just make sure you get the high-end models.

Does anyone have tips on the sizing for the Guidi + Rosellini boots? Do I have to size up as much as I would with regular Guidis?

My Brannock size is 9.5, and I usually take a 43 in Guidis, although a 44 doesn't actually feel bad either. Would I go with a 43 or maybe even a 42 in the Rosellini ones? Thanks!

Are there fake A1923's now? Saw these on eBay. At first I was like, hmm.. they look real.. then I saw the sole (no size stamp), and the box with a made-up name that sounds similar to A DICIANNOVEVENTITRE.

If you look at the top flap of the box, you can see "A DICI". The bottom of the box may well have a "TRE". Dunno how telling that is b/c I don't know what their boxes normally look like, but it's not just a totally made-up name.

simply means 1923 in english.

yes, those are 99% real imo. not easy to fake boots like these - you can tell from the sole.

Yeah that's a good point about the name continuing on the top box flap. Still weird there's no size stamp on the sole though.

Hey friendos:
Currently looking for the following:
Guidi 791/991 in regular or V model, smooth leather, fits a 41.5-42, pref horse but open to others.
Guidi 792Z (pref) or 992 in cord cont, black.

I'm willing to hear about other boots that are as tall as 791.

For general info gathering:
Recs for laceup boots that are 10"+? Looking for ones without zippers. So far my shortlist includes M.A+ (unconfirmed), Layer-0 (somewhat limited?), Guidi (791/991), C-Diem 7-holes, A1923. Am I missing anyone obvious?
