My cigar lhs's have a stain about the size of a nickel right on the top. I just noticed it, and I haven't worn those shoes in a while. I tried brushing, Venetian shoe cream, and using a damp cloth to wet the stain. Nothing. I am sure the stain has set. Could be food-based, including oil, or maybe even urine. What to do? Could Reno help?

Hi Alden fans

I've been lurking for the past couple weeks and have enjoyed reading all the informative posts and loving all the spectacular shoe pics. I'm learning a lot and unfortunately (for my bank balance at least) developing quite the wish list of Alden's to acquire.

Anyway, I made the plunge and got my first pair of Alden shoes, the classic 975. Gotta start with the king, right?

Not sure what my next pair is going to be, but I'm sure searching them out is going to be part of the fun. The dark brown NST model 925 was the shoe that caught my eye and led to my discovery of Alden shoes, so it is definitely a contender. But I am loving these longwings too. -Craig

PSA just bought a pair of Ravello tassels from Pelle Line. They have at least one other pair in size 11E.

Ok, this is my last reclamation project for a while. A picked up what I believe to be a pair of calfskin NST's off of ebay for a shipped price of less than $100. They seemed to have good bones from the pictures, but looked like they needed a little love. A little Saphir renovater, neutral shoe cream, and considerable elbow power has produced these .......

I cleaned up the edging and added the shoe/heel protectors. Look at how thick the soles are. These shoes were hardly used, just not well cared for. I am quite pleased with the outcome. They will also be added to my regular rotation. I thought I was through with non-shell for a while but I'm glad I didn't pass these up.
