In keeping with the January theme......current plans for Aldens this (2021) year is limited to the delivery of a number of pre-orders. If something were to pop up that I can't refuse, it may be purchased, but at this time, just the acquisition of pre-orders. I'm out of room, totally out of room. Will have to sell some things in the new year. Boots I only wear 1 or 2 times a year, are going to go.
Jim and Matt are not going to stop designing great new makeups so better inventory the seldom worn and get them listed!

True that, but I have to draw the line somewhere/sometime. I want full disclosure here, Matt and Jim are living my lifelong dream of a high end menswear shop, that is why I like their makeups so much.....

James, looking stellar in your Green Suede LHSes!!! I hope that you have a great New Years and wear them in good health!

Well, since I've been working on a project online this afternoon with a colleague in Vladivostok (where it's been January 1st for over 8 hours at the time I'm posting this), I'll go ahead and post my New Year's [Eve] entry to the 2021 thread:

As it looks like we have transitioned to the new thread, figure I'd post here.

Reflecting back on 2020 through the Alden lens, it was pretty adventurous. It was the year I started my Alden journey; May 2020 (I thought it was March but looking back realized it was actually May). Prior to May I had purchased a #8 chukka about 2-3 years back and just never wore them as I got the sizing wrong.

Throughout the past 7 months of my Alden adventure I have managed to acquire 14 pairs and end the year with 17 pending pre-orders that will bring more excitement and joy in 2021. Unfortunately due to my large size (12.5/13D) majority of the time I have to go with pre-orders.

It's been awesome sharing this hobby with all of you on here. Thanks to many of you for answering questions, providing input and enabling lol.

Happy New Year to you all!!

Here are my 2020 acquisitions. Leaving the pre-orders for next year (they don't count until you get them, right?)

2019 - entry to high quality GYW shoes with Allen Edmonds, knowing about Aldens and thinking they are out of my price range.
2020 - what the heck, we only live once....3 pairs of basic stock Indys, size 13

2021 - hopefully more to come, no particular pairs shortlisted for acquisition yet, will go with the flow!

Question about getting onto lists for rare shell. I am particularly interested in Indys/Tankers (TB 13D and Barrie 13E).

I was told by TSM that the rare shell lists are only open to residents of US....which I am not (I live in Singapore).

Is this a policy for other Alden retailers as well ?

Guys,

Just a little spam, of the non-Alden variety, for boot lovers. These are a really unique boot that are certainly not for everybody. And while I may be a little biased, I hear the seller is a pretty cool guy who is very easy to deal with.

Sorry, but that is a rule all retailers have to follow. Many of them say it on their website.
