Suede LWB, courtesy of Adam Knott at Alden of Carmel. I've wanted a pair for years. Ripped off my color 8's to put the new ones on, lol. new suede Aldens.jpg

Shell Cordovan Craze.
I had been wanting to buy some Shell cordovan boots for a few years now but never could overcome the pricing hurdle when great looking calf skin shoes/boots could be had for MUCH cheaper.

After looking at different styles I decided to go with a Wing tips boot design, and it looked like the Alden Wingtips were my best bet (originally I wanted some CJ or Carmina but the lasts were unlikely to be a good fit for my weird short wide high instep feet).
Unfortunately no one had them in stock with the configuration I wanted even if I had to pay a premium. (non antique edge, color 8, leather soles wide width).

On Monday... I got word that some may be in stock at Alden in California (San Francisco). Made a phone call and sure enough they had them in stock in the size they advised me to try fist. They are to be delivered on Friday and I am absolutely stoked.

I cannot wait to try my first pair of Shell cordovan in the EXACT boot I wanted.

I also have to live with the fact these are likely the like pair of anything that go on my feet for the next 5 years if I want to keep the wife happy.

Good day gentlemen.
I will be selling my pair of Alden x Epaulet Color 8 Shell "Alt Wein" perforated Bluchers on double leather soles. Size 10.5 D. Barrie Last. Only tried on a couple of times in my house.

Thought I'd post here first. I can send more pics, details etc.. if you P.M. me.

Thanks.

I am thrilled for you but I am also saddened for your future self. Please return to this post in 8 months when you have two more pairs of shell being shipped to your office and/or local fedex dropoff location. Your wife will also need a strong support system, I'll pass along her info.

A Yenni boot today. Great make up for sure! The bright brass eyelets are icing on the cake.

I need to stretch the left at my toes a bit...my foot has apparently spread a bit over the past year (didn't bother me in the spring), but 3E would be a bit too much volume
