The Hand Sewn Buttonhole Thread

Use gimp, specifically Gutermann's Agreman gimp. It comes in more than one size- use size No. 1 for that effect. You might consider Gutermann's R753 silk thread for buttonholes, but a number of other vendors make silk twist as well.

HF has a hand-tailored option which has hand-sewn collar, armhole and shoulder lining finishing, lining hem, boutonniere loop, and hand-sewn buttonholes are worked on both sides (this is a silk dinner jacket) .

As i am not an expert of Milanese Buttonholes, I am very interested about your opinion. Please let me know how you judge the work of my newest suite (or rather the work of the Milanese buttonhole)

That's a pretty severe right-hand turn that your buttonhole is taking. But since the hole is (almost) always cut before the thread is sewn, you must blame that on whomever cut the hole. Otherwise, the sewing looks pretty neat but a closer picture may give a better impression.

It’s been more than 7 years since Jeff posted his amazing buttonholes! Has anybody found a tailor that can do such a work? I’ve 3 Isaia blazers that need to be finished with working cuffs. Field in DC offers handmade buttonholes but I don’t think they do Milanese buttonholes.

They look decent to me. The reverse of the buttonhole will always be the 'ugly' side because of the way the stitch is made.
